Semi-DIY Girls Pool Party Food

Our Girl Power Pool Party went splendidly! We raised about $100 for SafePlace and everybody enjoyed the henna, PK Acupuncture, Mary Kay makeup samples, pool, food, jello shots, and goody bags.  My henna is nice and brown after two days, thanks to La Pham Nikita.

For my food contribution, I again went with make half/buy half. It was particularly challenging to choose food for 100°F weather.  Continue reading

Semi-DIY Goody Bags

I’m excited to be helping my friends host an all-female pool party with henna, acupuncture, massages, music, food, drinks, and photography. All tips/donations will go to a local nonprofit, SafePlace. It’ll be my first time trying henna and acupuncture so it should be interesting.

For my contribution, I decided to make goody bags because I have fond memories of receiving them at parties when I was kid, plus who doesn’t love free swag? The bags include information about SafePlace, the organizers’ business cards, and of course, girly goodies.  Continue reading

Veils and Hair Accessories

Bridal veils and hair accessories—so many choices, but what to wear?

This past weekend, C-Man and I were in Gainesville, FL for his college friend’s wedding. The beautiful bride, L, went with no veil. It was the perfect choice as the setting sun shined through the Spanish moss to give the bride and groom an ethereal glow. It matched seamlessly with their theme of simple elegance.
