Piñatas & Micheladas

Two things I’ve learned to love while living in Texas:  piñatas and micheladas. (A michelada is a spicy beer cocktail, like a beer bloody mary). I always thought piñatas were limited to kids’ parties, but since moving to Texas, I’ve seen them at birthdays, house parties, engagements, and random celebrations.

No-Sew Vinyl Baby Bibs

I’m super excited that my lovely friend, Ashleigh, is expecting a baby boy. She’s the first of my college friends to be with child! Sadly, I won’t be able to make it to her baby shower in Jersey. 😦 So in addition to the usual Babies R Us gift, I wanted to send a little semi-DIY love. I found a wipe-clean vinyl baby bib tutorial on homemade by Jill with a no-sew option using pinking shears. Woohoo no sewing machine required!!

Elvis’ Burning Love

Su-cathlon: 10 challenging games in honor of a friend’s birthday—just another competitive Saturday afternoon. There was cup stacking, BB gun shooting, Operation, Wii dance off, frisbee toss, and more. I love quirky parties with activities and prizes, although C-Man and I didn’t win any medals. (I lack good hand-eye coordination.)

I wanted to bring a halftime snack so what better energizer than Elvis’ favorite: banana, bacon, and peanut butter on toast. With sugary-spicy bacon, we called it Elvis’ Burning Love. Continue reading
